BUSCEMI, TARTARACI 2016, SICILY, ITALY

Red Wine
$49.99

This earthy little ditty hails from the island of Sicily. The historic vineyard of Tartaraci is located in the appellation of Mt. Etna. The vines here were planted almost a century ago! Female winemaker, Mirella Buscemi, owns a vineyard of 3.6 hectares.

Hand picked and fermented in cement before being aged in bottle for 18 months. The Granaccia, which softens the acidity of the Nerello Mascalese, also gives the wine a plump ripeness. The distinct character of volcanic soil is also displayed to offer a layered complexity. It is a more "femme" style that is approachable. This luscious Italian red wine has got it goin on!

Predominately Nerello Mascalese and Granaccia (Grenache)
